Becka Subido and Kirsty McKain started Fine Piece after working together as technicians at the Edinburgh Tool Library Library, this is where Tertia was born. After working together on this piece of furniture they decided to create their own wee business and here they are!

We design and make one-off pieces of furniture and homeware, with an emphasis on using reclaimed materials. Every piece is hand made by us in our workshop space in Leith where we are more than happy for folk to pop by and see what we’re up to.

Design Philosophy

At Fine Piece, we understand that as a society, changes will have to be made in the way we consume in order to sustain the planet. We aim to produce lasting, high-quality pieces of furniture and homeware from reclaimed or recycled materials, wherever possible.  We want to use our skills, passion and creativity to encourage change.

This ethos that we see as being one of our core values along with sustainable choices and working with the community. Our future plans are that Fine Piece itself can offer these charitable services. We are not bound by stereotypes or convention but determined to question and break them.
